About Us

Sontronics was founded in 2004 with a simple goal: to create microphones that offered exceptional sound and beautiful design at a price musicians and creators could actually afford. Our very first range of condenser mics, including the iconic ORPHEUS, STC-1 and STC-2, was launched at the NAMM Show in Los Angeles in 2005. Today, our products are used in world-class studios and live venues, as well as home setups, radio stations, schools and podcasting spaces around the world.Sontronics microphones are expertly crafted on the south coast of England. Every circuit is made to our own proprietary designs, and our custom-wound transformers are manufactured within two miles of our workshop in Dorset. New models are put through rigorous testing in collaboration with legendary British producers and engineers, including Flood and Paul Epworth, as well as our long-standing friends at Abbey Road Studios. Before any mic leaves our workshop, it’s carefully tested and checked by hand to ensure it meets our highest standards. Our microphones are built to last, and that’s why every model we sell comes with a lifetime warranty as standard.
